Guttering & Downpipe Repairs and Replacement
A gutter only has one job: get water off the roof and away from the wall. Most of the damp patches we get called out to start with a joint that has dropped or a downpipe running straight onto brickwork.
What guttering & downpipes work involves
We start by finding out why it is leaking. Sometimes it is a perished seal or a bracket that has pulled out of soft timber, and a repair is the sensible answer. Where the run has sagged in the middle, or the plastic has gone brittle and chalky, replacing the run costs less than repeatedly patching it.
New runs are set to a proper fall towards the outlet and bracketed at sensible centres so they do not dip between fixings. Downpipes are clipped tight to the wall and discharged into the gully rather than splashing at the base of the brickwork.

Common questions about Guttering & Downpipes
Do you clear gutters as well as replace them?
Yes. If a clear-out and a couple of new seals will sort it, we will tell you that rather than quoting for a full replacement.
Can you match my existing guttering?
In most cases yes, we can match common profiles and colours so a repaired section does not stand out.
Often done at the same time
- Fascias & Soffits
Fascias and soffits are the boards that close off your roof edge. When they soften or split, rain gets behind them and starts on the rafter feet, so we replace them properly rather than cladding over the top.
- Roofing & Repairs
Most roof problems are small and cheap if you catch them early. A slipped tile or a failed flashing will not fix itself, and by the time it shows on a ceiling you are also paying for plaster.
- Roofline & Bargeboards
Bargeboards sit on the sloping gable edge and take the worst of the weather. On exposed streets around Bury and Ramsbottom they are usually the first part of the roofline to go.
